DIC II Scholarship Announcement

Hi! I am Christy Hennessey, one of Scholarship Committee members representing the Deaf Interpreter
Conference coming up this Summer, July. How exciting!

Know What? This year, for the first time, SCHOLARSHIPS will be awarded to give opportunities to Deaf interpreters (who are interested in learning about interpreting, curious about being a Deaf interpreter) to attend the conference!

This scholarship was established to encourage and support individuals who are Deaf and are or plan to become Deaf Interpreters as they build their knowledge,
skillsand interaction!

What is it covered: Scholarships will cover registration & meals OR registration, meals & lodging.

What you need to do:

  1. Upload video, less than 5 minutes. See questions in criteria below

  2. Write an essay up to 250 words. See questions in application, again see criteria for different questions below

  3. Resume: You will be asked to attach your resume to email and then just click send.

  4. Reference: Please have a Deaf individual who knows you and your passion about learning interpreting skills to provide a reference. That person will do a video (no more than 5 minutes). Please paste their video URL into the appropriate place on the application form.

Post Conference: In approximately a week after the conference, the winners will need to share a brief YouTube or Vimeo video describing their experience, workshops, discussion, and what you have learned at DIC II so we, the DIC II committee, will oversee and improve for next DIC3 and many more years to come.

The award decisions will be made by the DIC II Scholarship Committee.

Deadline on
May12,2017 at 5:00 EST.

Good Luck!
