DIC 2 Theme Announcement

Hello! I am Eileen Forestal and I am part of the Deaf Interpreter Conference 2 committee. After some discussion and deep thoughts, we came up with a theme that seemed to go with the conference.

The theme is “Evolve, Embrace, Empower”.

We developed a way how to sign the theme in one movement with the same handshape, 5, to convey the meaning of the theme.

The rationale for this theme is that Deaf interpreters must constantly learn, grow, and make changes in our profession.

We must embrace our work, our profession, our Deaf community and to support and encourage Deaf interpreters to advance into the profession.

Thus, the theme for the conference is “Evolve, Embrace, Empower”!
